130,000 youths take part in WYD's “Days in the Dioceses”
From Rome Reports
About 130,000 young people from 137 countries are taking part in “Days in the Dioceses” in Spain ahead of World Youth Day (WYD) Madrid 2011.
Sixty-five Dioceses in Spain are hosting the international visitors, helping them prepare for the WYD celebrations with cultural and historic tours, as well as time for fun and prayer.
Two of the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta's WYD pilgrimages - Madrid Direct and Viva Spain & Italy - are taking part in the program.
The Days in the Dioceses concept began in 1997 when WYD was celebrated in Paris. The experience was so positive, it was adopted by the following WYDs in Italy, Canada, Germany and Australia.
