The 4th Sunday in Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday, is celebrated in the Church as World Day of Prayer for Vocations.

On this day, the faithful are encouraged to pray for men who feel called to give their lives in dedicated service to God and the Church, that they will be guided by the Holy Spirit in their discernment.

All young men who feel God might be calling them to the priesthood are invited to the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta’s Vocation Discernment Afternoon on Sunday 26 April 2015.

Commencing at 2pm at Holy Spirit Seminary in Harris Park, the day concludes with a shared meal at 6pm.

The diocesan Vocations Office has produced a suite of resources for parishes and secondary schools for Good Shepherd Sunday. These resources include posters, vocation information brochures and prayer cards.

Everyone is welcome to join the Holy Hour for Vocations from 7-8pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month for an hour of adoration, prayer and quiet time in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta.

Please pray for willing men and invite them to think about priesthood or religious life.
