In my search for a spirituality and place to nurture my Catholic faith, I found menALIVE, initially a Brisbane-based movement but now nationwide. It has provided me with some great tools to live my Catholic faith more fully.
On the weekend of 2 & 3 May, Mary, Queen of the Family Parish at Blacktown is hosting a menALIVE Weekend. I encourage all men, married or single, to attend our first men’s weekend to share faith with other men in the place between the pub and the pew.
I attended a menALIVE weekend last year and found that there are men just like me, living our faith, living our lives, looking to meet Christ in the practical down-to-earth experiences that men of faith confront.
A menALIVE weekend delivers relevant talks and personal testimonies, opportunities for discussion in small groups, and the space and environment to reflect.
Members of the menALIVE team share stories of their lives, the challenges they face, and the hope they have discovered in seeking to walk this journey with God.
The experience of the weekend is powerful and dynamic, and many men are inspired and encouraged with a new sense of purpose and mission.
The weekend is organised by men in the local community and conducted by an experienced team of menALIVE leaders. It is suitable for all men from 18 years of age. Come and ‘Meet Christ: Between the Pub and the Pew’.
The venue is Patrician Brothers’ College, 100 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown.Paul Scott is a member of the Mary, Queen of the Family Parish community.
