A group of 1000 young worshippers will trek from St Patrick’s Church in Blacktown to St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta to mark Good Friday.

The 21km journey, known as the Good Friday Walk and Talk with the Lord, sees teenagers and young adults walking from 10pm on Friday until 8am on Saturday.

The group stops to pray a decade of the rosary during the Stations of the Cross at Blacktown, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Westmead and Parramatta.

St Patrick’s Blacktown parish member Irene Nocillado said this was her third year of participating.

“It’s a great way to meet people and to bond with people in your parish,” she said.

“It’s a great reflection of how vibrant the youth is in the Blacktown community, even in the Parramatta diocese.”
