Your song could be heard at WYD

20/01/2011

Do you want to hear your song played at the events of World Youth Day?

The organisers of World Youth Day (WYD) Madrid 2011 are offering young musicians the chance to make this happen through the WYD song contest 'Tuned into Madrid (Madrid me encanta).

The musical genre is open and the piece can be composed by individual artists or groups. You just have to be between the ages of 16 and 35 years old, and have registered as a participant of WYD.

All entries should be no longer than three minutes with orginial lyrics which have never before been published. You can join the contest from any part in the world and in any language, but you will need to attach a translation of the lyrics in Spanish or English.

The words to your song should be inspired by or refer to the theme of WYD: “Planted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith” or the message of Pope Benedict XVI for this WYD.

The authors of the first five selected songs will receive a free WYD registration and will have preferred seating at the Vigil at Cuatro Vientos. And most importantly…your song could be sung at one of the events of WYD!

You can already upload your song at http://www.madridmeencanta.org/

The last day for submissions is 30 April.
