Who are you at census time? Make your faith count

The Bishop of Parramatta, Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, has asked all Catholics to declare their faith in the 2011 Census on Tuesday 9 August.

Bishop Anthony told the Parramatta Holroyd Sun that the census was a chance for Catholics to stand up for who they were.

"Most Australians are believers. It would be strange indeed if the profile of individual Australians and the whole community left out this crucial aspect of our identity," Bishop Anthony told the Sun.

"We don't want to be under-represented in social policy and advocacy for the services we offer. We want to be taken seriously when decisions are made about the future of our community. And numbers count here."
