Vatican II: Promise and Challenge News Story
The Altar at Vatican II.

To mark the 50th anniversary year of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, the Institute for Mission (IFM) offers a special night exploring the great hope and continued challenge of the Council.

Guest speaker Daniel Ang holds a Master of Divinity from the Sydney College of Divinity (researching French theologian and major influence on the Council, Henri de Lubac SJ) and teaches ecclesiology and ministry at the Institute for Mission.

He is the currently Pastoral Planning Officer for the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta and published in a number of peer reviewed journals in the area of ecclesiology.

With Daniel, IFM will examine the origins and intent of the Council, those who influenced its teachings, the tensions and issues that followed and the ongoing significance of the Council for the Catholic Church today.
