Two new chaplains for Westmead Hospital

Mrs Anna Phillips and Sr Rita Apura CSFN from the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth were commissioned as chaplains to Westmead Hospital in a ceremony in the hospital’s chapel in February this year. The ministry of chaplains in the Diocese is supported by donations to the DWF Appeal.
The two new chaplains will work with the Pastoral Care Team at Westmead Hospital with Rev Fr Domingo Barawid MI, a priest belonging to the Ministers of the Infirm (the Camillians), Deacon Nicephorus Tan, Mrs Cathy McNamara and Br Gerard Bulfin FSP from the Patrician Brothers. Sister Rita also works at Blacktown Hospital.
The Children’s Hospital, next door to Westmead Hospital, has a Catholic Pastoral Team comprising Rev Fr Marcelo Pamintuan MI, a Camillian priest, Sr Patricia Bolster RSM, a Parramatta Sister of Mercy, and Sr Narelle Whiteman RSJ, a Sister of St Joseph.
