The third National Catholic Family Gathering conference - Share the Dream - will offer the Catholic community of Australia a forum to strengthen and support marriage and family life.
To be held in Melbourne in April 2011, Share the Dream was launched in Melbourne last night by Archbishop Denis Hart. Archbishop Hart was joined by Bishop Terry Brady, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney and presently the Apostolic Administrator of Wilcannia-Forbes, along with member of the Bishops Commission for Pastoral Life, lay family movements and other Church leaders.
The 2011 event will follow the success of two previous National Family Gatherings, Dare to Dream in 2000 and Living the Dream in 2004.
"Although we live amid a culture that is so often at odds with Christ’s call to live that self sacrificing love which marriage and family life demands…we remain a people of hope," Archbishop Hart said.
"It is through the family that the natural bonds of God’s own love hold firm that foundation upon which not just the Church but indeed our whole society depends."
