PROCLAIM 2014: ‘Living the Joy of the Gospel in Parishes’

14/07/2014

Invitation by Bishop Peter Ingham to PROCLAIM 2014 - conference on the New Evangelisation organised on behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference by the National Office for Evangelisation.

PROCLAIM 2014 is about helping Catholics respond to the call to the new evangelisation, helping to build our parishes as faith communities full of disciples and missionary in outlook.

The conference on the New Evangelisation is being organised on behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference by the National Office for Evangelisation.

With the theme ‘Living the Joy of the Gospel in Parishes’, PROCLAIM 2014 will draw upon Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium. This national event will focus on how parishes, supported by dioceses, can become more missionary.

Keynote speakers are Fr Michael White and Mr Tom Corcoran, authors of Rebuilt: Awakening the Faith, Reaching the Lost and Making Church Matter.

During Fr White's tenure at the Church of the Nativity in Baltimore in the US, weekend Mass attendance increased from 1400 to more than 4000. More importantly, the commitment to the mission of the Church has grown, evidenced by the significant increase of giving and service in ministry.

PROCLAIM 2014 will be held at The Concourse, Chatswood, from Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 August.
