Patrick Madrid: Premier Catholic speaker to visit Parramatta
Best-selling author of 16 books and EWTN television and radio host Patrick Madrid will speak in Parramatta as part of his Australian tour in May.
At the instigation of the Archdiocese of Sydney's Catholic Adult Education Centre, Patrick Madrid is visiting Australia to present a series of seminars and talks on the Catholic Faith.
Catholic Adult Education Centre Director Thomas Waugh said Patrick Madrid's visit was an opportunity to hear one of the English-speaking world's premier Catholic speakers.
“Patrick Madrid is knowledgeable, experienced, entertaining and inspiring," Thomas said.
On Saturday 19 May, Patrick will present a 'Morning Retreat for Men' at St Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta from 8am to 12pm.
On Monday 21 May, Patrick will speak on the topic ‘The Godless Delusion: A Catholic Critique of Modern Atheism’ at Theology on Tap at The Commercial Hotel, Parramatta. (Time: 6.30pm dinner with 7.30pm start).
Patrick and his wife, Nancy, have been married for more than 31 years and have 11 children. Two of his sons will be travelling with him to Australia.
Patrick earned a BPhil and an MA in Theology at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He is currently enrolled in the licentiate of sacred theology (STL) program at the University of Dayton’s International Marian Research Institute, which is affiliated with the Pontifical Theological Faculty Marianum in Rome.

He is the author or editor of 16 books on Catholic themes including, Pope Fiction, Search and Rescue, Does the Bible Really Say That?, The Godless Delusion and the multi-volume Surprised by Truth series.
In addition to his work as an author, Patrick Madrid is the host of four EWTN television and radio series. He also hosts the Thursday edition of EWTN Radio's Open Line radio broadcast.
He is an adjunct professor of theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and a research fellow of the St Paul Centre for Biblical Studies.
At the invitation of numerous bishops and priests, he has conducted hundreds of conferences in English and Spanish at parishes, seminaries, and universities across the US, as well as throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He is a regular presenter at the Franciscan University of Steubenville's Defending the Faith summer conferences.
