St Francis Xavier Holy Relic Visit News Story
The baptising right arm of St Francis Xavier.

The program has been confirmed for the visit of the Holy Relic of St Francis Xavier to the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 November.

The Holy Relic will visit Holy Family Mt Druitt Parish in Emerton, St Francis Xavier’s Church in Wentworth Falls (part of St Mary MacKillop Upper Blue Mountains Parish) and St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta.

The Holy Relic is the baptising right arm of St Francis Xavier. Known as one of the greatest missionaries of the 16th century who ventured to the far East, St Francis christened tens of thousands of people during missionary work in Africa, India and Asia.

Along with St Therese of Lisieux, St Francis Xavier is the co-patron saint of Australia.

Having arrived in Sydney on Sunday 16 September as part of the National Pilgrimage of Grace, the Holy Relic is journeying throughout Australia until Monday 3 December, Feast Day of St Francis Xavier.
