New windows to the soul at Kurrajong Church
The Sydney Morning Herald has reported on the series of stained glass windows being created by artist Salvatore Zofrea at Kurrajong's St Gregory's Church, in the Parish of St Monica's Richmond.
According to the Herald Mr Zofrea, who has just finished the first of the serie's eight windows, is using a new glasswork technique that not only does away with leadlighting but allows far greater detail to be worked into images.
Unveiled on Sunday 25 September, the first of the new windows at St Gregory's features new Australian plants displayed beside the waratah, including flannel flowers and bottlebrush, which appear to be bursting with colour.
