New CEO for St Vincent de Paul Society NSW
The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is delighted to announce the commencement of Michael Perusco as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Perusco joins the Society with a background in chartered accounting and community development, most significantly as long-time CEO for Sacred Heart Mission in Melbourne, a homeless service providing crisis support and assistance.
NSW State Council President Ray Reynolds said Mr Perusco's experience in both the not-for-profit and private sector, along with his commitment to people experiencing hardship, will make him an asset to the organisation.
"We’re so pleased to welcome Michael and we know that the St Vincent de Paul Society will flourish under his leadership," Mr Reynolds said.
Departing CEO, Graham West, who is undertaking a tree-change with his family and is joining the Australia Day Council in Canberra, says the Society’s future lies in good hands with Mr Perusco.
“Michael has a long history of working with the disadvantaged and marginalised, and the passion for social justice that he brings to this role will be of great value to the Society,” Mr West said.
Mr Perusco says that he is very excited to join the Society and be a part of the great work done by the organisation, especially at the grassroots level.
“I am impressed that the grassroots and immediate response, that is such a core function of the Society, is still so valued by the organisation. What is most important to me is that we continue to deliver the best possible outcome for people experiencing disadvantage,” Mr Perusco said.
