Local coverage: New Toowoomba bishop in town

Toowoomba's regional daily newspaper, The Chronicle, has interviewed Bishop-elect Robert McGuckin during his visit to the Diocese.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop-elect McGuckin as the sixth Bishop of Toowoomba on 14 May.

Bishop-elect McGuckin has served as the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta’s Vicar General & Moderator of the Curia since 1997.

His Episcopal Ordination will be celebrated  in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Toowoomba, on Wednesday 11 July at 11.30am, the Feast of St Benedict.

In his interview with The Chronicle, Bishop-elect McGuckin said he was looking forward to meeting the people of the Diocese and spending time with as many of the individual parishes as he could.
