Greenway MP visit to six local Catholic Schools

10/05/2011

Federal Member for Greenway, Michelle Rowland MP, has visited six Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Parramatta during Catholic Schools Week.

During the 1-7 May celebrations, Ms Rowland visited St John’s Primary (Riverstone), Terra Sancta College (Quakers Hills/Schofields), Holy Cross Primary (Glenwood), St Anthony’s Primary (Girraween) and Mary Immaculate Primary (Quakers Hill).

As a former St Bernadette’s Primary, Lalor Park student, Ms Rowland said she was pleased to be able to see how learning has evolved since she attended school.

"I think the learning spaces and how teaching has adapted provides more opportunities for student interaction which helps boost student confidence, and provides well rounded learning," Ms Rowland said.

"It has been great in all my visits to see the fantastic facilities and the learning taking place. It’s also great to see a designated place for prayer within each classroom – this is what makes Catholic schools so special."
