Fr Peter Blayney installed as Parish Priest of St Patrick's Guildford
Fr Peter Blayney has been installed as Parish Priest of St Patrick's Guildford by the Bishop of Parramatta, Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, on Sunday 1 August.
Fr Blayney, the Judicial Vicar for the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta, also serves on the Diocesan Finance Council, the Diocesan Development Fund, the Clergy Support Foundation, and the Vocations Committee.
"In his priestly service it will be his task to sanctify, to mediate to you what Jesus calls ‘spiritual treasure’ and Paul calls ‘the things of heaven’," Bishop Anthony said in his homily at Fr Blayney's installation.
"It will be his task to teach, to point out the new horizon to you, to declare as nothing but vanity all that blocks your vision of it, to exhort you to become the new self begun at your Baptism until you shine with Christ in glory.
"It will be his task to lead and serve you, so that you not only see the new horizon but make your way, slowly but surely, towards it."
