Fr Kevin Dadswell Learning Centre opens

St Michael’s Primary Blacktown South has officially opened the Fr Kevin Dadswell Learning Centre, named in honour of the former Parish Priest who served St Michael’s for 20 years.

Catholic Diocese of Parramatta Vicar General, Very Rev Peter G Williams VG, blessed the new centre at its official opening on Friday 23 September.

The $3 million multi-purpose space, which was funded by the Australian Government as part of the Building the Education Revolution (BER) program, was officially opened by Executive Director of Schools Greg Whitby and Federal Member for Chifley Ed Husic MP.

St Michael’s Blacktown South Parish Priest Fr Robert Reidling welcomed the school and parish community to the Opening & Blessing Ceremony.

"Everyone who had contact with Fr Kevin was changed in some way," Fr Robert said.

"I hope this learning space will inspire you just as much as Fr Kevin did."

BER blessing at Glenbrook

An Opening & Blessing Ceremony was also held at Finbar’s Primary in Glenbrook on Friday 23 September, officially opening its $2 million newly refurbished classrooms funded under the BER.

In blessing the refurbished classrooms, Very Rev Peter G Williams VG reminded the students of the foundation of Catholic schooling.

"The buildings alone do not make St Finbar’s a school," Fr Peter said.

"The students and teachers are the beating heart of this school and Jesus is our foundation stone."
