Faith at Work: you can make a difference
A Message from Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP on the Diocesan Works Fund Appeal
During May 2014, the Diocesan Works Fund Appeal will be taken up in parishes and schools throughout the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta.
This year the theme is Faith at Work.
The DWF appeal gives us the opportunity to act together as a diocesan family to support ministries and services that no single individual or parish can offer.
For example, it supports catechists who teach the faith in state schools, seminarians who are preparing for the priesthood, young adults working in youth ministry, the All Saints of Africa Centre in Blacktown for recent refugees and migrants, and the Ephpheta Centre for the deaf and hearing-impaired.
CatholicCare Parramatta, the social services arm of the Church in Western Sydney, provides practical and compassionate support to the elderly, unemployed, the homeless, people living with a disability, young people and families in crisis, people fighting addictions to substances and gambling, and many other people who are struggling.
By sharing a financial gift, you can touch the lives of thousands of people in Western Sydney who are supported through programs that teach, heal, nurture and feed.
You will make a difference!
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. You can donate through your parish or school or online at Faith at Work: www.faithatwork.org.au
