Awards were presented to those teachers and staff who have worked in Catholic education for 25 years or more; to leaders who have reached their 10th year in leadership positions and system leaders who had served Catholic Education and Leadership in Parramatta for 25 years. The 228 teachers and staff and the 25 leaders who received awards had a collective of more than 6,630 years of service among them.
On behalf of the Bishop of Parramatta Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, Episcopal Vicar for Education, Very Rev Chris de Souza VG EV presented each recipient with an award.
During his homily, Fr Chris encouraged all teachers and staff who were receiving awards to continue to be good news messengers in the way they live their lives and relate to others.
"Continue to listen to Christ speaking to you so that Christ may speak through you to others, so you become truly agents and messengers of the good news who listen to the Word of the Lord," Fr Chris said.
