CathNews calls for all pilgrim photographers

29/09/2010

If you're undertaking a pilgrimage to Rome or at home for the Canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop with camera in hand, you can share the moments you capture with the readers of CathNews, Australia's leading faith-based electronic publication.

"The world knows about the concept of the Citizen Journalist and the editors at CathNews want to extend the idea to pilgrims at home and in Rome at ceremonies for the Canonisation of Bl Mary MacKillop," Church Resources CEO Luke Kenny said.

"Photos from pilgrims will form the basis of the CathNews Gallery, powered by the photo-sharing application Flickr. The gallery will show the best of Rome in October during the canonisation period, and also the sites which are particularly relevant to Mary MacKillop at home from Penola to North Sydney, Richmond to Kensington," Luke said.

CathNews’ Pilgrim Photographers can take their shots and follow the instructions on how to upload them on the Mary MacKillop micro site on CathNews(http://australiasfirstsaint.com.au/news-and-events/), for positng in the gallery.

All the images posted on the gallery will go into a competition judged by the  CathNews editors to win a Myer gift voucher worth $200. Ten runners up will win a Mary MacKillop stamp set courtesy of Australia Post.
