Catherine McAuley science wiz to attend international forum
Catherine McAuley Westmead Year 12 student Christie-Rae Crosthwaite will represent Australia at Europe’s largest science conference - the Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) - in Dublin, Ireland from 11 to 15 July.
The ESOF conference showcases the latest advances in science and technology, promoting a dialogue on the role of science and technology in society and public policy.
Christie-Rae will join more than 5,000 delegates from 50 countries - including five Nobel Laureates and 500 high profile speakers - at the conference.
Christie-Rae was chosen to attend the conference with five other Australian students after her success at attending the prestigious National Youth Science Forum that was held in Canberra and Perth earlier this year.
Christie-Rae says she is hoping get a better understanding of where science sits in terms of policy making and society internationally as well as make connections within the global science community.Read full story at the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta website
