Cardinal Pell to launch Bishop Anthony’s groundbreaking bioethics book
The Bishop of Parramatta Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP’s latest groundbreaking contribution to bioethics - Catholic Bioethics for a New Millennium - will be launched by His Eminence Cardinal George Pell, Archbishop of Sydney on Tuesday 31 January.
The book will be launched at the University of Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney Campus, 104 Broadway, Sydney, at 6pm.

Published by Cambridge University Press, Catholic Bioethics for a New Millennium, addresses dilemmas arising in contemporary healthcare from the perspective of a Catholic moral theologian and bishop, treating faith and reason with equal seriousness. Bishop Anthony discusses the role of conscience, relationships and the law in the context of controversial practices such as stem cell research, abortion, transplants, artificial feeding and euthanasia, making insightful use of case studies.
Bishop Anthony’s approach to bioethics demonstrates the relevance of ancient wisdom to modern healthcare practice and offers new suggestions for social policy and regulation.
