Bishop's book addresses major bioethical issues of the day - Cardinal Pell

From Catholic Communications Sydney

A large number of academics, health care workers, clergy, government and social services representatives and young students gathered at the University of Notre Dame in Broadway on Tuesday 31 January, to hear Cardinal Pell launch the latest book by Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, Catholic Bioethics for a New Millennium.

The Cardinal praised the Bishop of Parramatta for the way he presented his coherent arguments which could be well understood by all readers. He said the book would go a long way in providing modern society with an explanation of what many consider are contentious issues.

"Bioethics is a vitally important area in which the tectonic plates that underlie our civilisation are rubbing up against one another," Cardinal Pell said said.

"This book is a wonderful contribution in the struggle to recover Catholic conscience and authority."
