A Social Justice Co-ordinator for All Seasons

21/05/2011

Catholic Diocese of Parramatta Social Justice Co-ordinator Evan Ellis is appearing as King Henry VIII in the acclaimed A Man for All Seasons at the Seymour Centre from 20 to 28 May.

Presented by Artes Christi, Robert Bolt's powerful play tells the story of the life, trial and execution of Thomas More, one of England’s finest lawyers, judges and Chancellors, who refused to give up his Catholic faith or to countenance Henry VIII’s divorce from Catherine of Aragon so he could marry commoner, Ann Boleyn.

First produced in London in 1960, the play was adapted for cinema six years later and won six Oscars including best picture and best actor for Paul Schofield who reprised his stage role for the film, playing Sir Thomas More.

Tickets are available online at www.arteschristi.org.au or phone 02 93517940.

100 per cent of the profits will support the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
