'The smelling salts for society'
In his latest CathBlog, Catholic Diocese of Parramatta Social Justice Co-ordinator Evan Ellis says stories such as that told in the film 127 Hours are 'the smelling salts for society' waking us up to dignity, value and promise.
"Watching 127 Hours is a little like going in for a successful surgery. You come out groggy but grateful," Evan writes.
"The film makes midwives of us all; we are close to the suffering but in doing so are we are also close to the passage to new life."
