The ‘Pathways of St Paul’ pilgrimage being led by the Bishop of Parramatta Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP has reached Laodicea, where the Christian community was founded by St Paul.
Bishop Anthony is leading the pilgrimage of 22 Catholic Education Office staff and Principals through Greece and Turkey from 28 September to 15 October.
“Nowadays Laodicea is only ruins. In the Book of Revelation St John writes to the Laodicean Christians saying they have lost their original zeal and become lukewarm,” Bishop Anthony wrote on his Facebook page.
“‘Neither hot nor cold I spit you out’, he says dramatically. If we are lukewarm about Christ and His Gospel our part of the Church could end up in ruins too!”
