18/10/2012

Institute For Mission, 1-5 Marion St Blacktown

“The Second Vatican Council was and remains a true sign of God in our time.”

- Pope Benedict XVI
Address to the French Bishops’ Conference
March 2012

To mark the 50th anniversary year of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, the Institute for Mission offers a special night that will look at the great hope and continued challenge of the Council.

With our guest speaker Daniel Ang, we will examine the origins and intent of the Council, those who influenced its teachings, the tensions and issues that followed and the ongoing significance of the Council for the Catholic Church today.

Daniel holds a Master of Divinity from the Sydney College of Divinity (researching French theologian and major influence on the Council, Henri de Lubac SJ) and teaches ecclesiology and ministry at the Institute for Mission. He is the currently Pastoral Planning Officer for the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta and published in a number of peer reviews journals in the area of ecclesiology.
