Responsible Gambling Awareness Week

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week

An annual event since 2006, Responsible Gambling Awareness Week raises community awareness of problem gambling and highlights the free services and resources available to help those in our community who are struggling to keep gambling under control.

Australians spend around $18 billion a year on gambling. While most people gamble within affordable limits, more than 500,000 Australians suffer significant problems from their gambling, risking financial distress, relationship issues and family breakdown, as well as physical and mental health problem such as sleeplessness, anxiety, depression and suicide.

CCSS Responsible Gambling Counselling Service

CatholicCare Social Services – Parramatta Diocese (CCSS) Responsible Gambling Counselling Service provides support to individuals, couples and their families in dealing with the issues and problems caused by gambling.

Group sessions for gamblers and members of their families are held on Saturdays, while other groups are run as required.
