Director of Nursing (DON)

Comprehensive Quality Care for the Aged

For over 20 years, St Hedwig Village in Western Sydney has been recognised for excellence in residential care with its beautiful gardens and dedicated staff.  The Village has 132 beds catering for every level of care from self-care units to a nursing home and a hostel. It also includes 28 Community Care Packages.

The DON will be responsible for maintaining quality standards of residential and clinical care in the Village. Reporting to the CEO and supported by a loyal team of qualified and dedicated staff, your role will be to lead the charge in fostering key relationships that will enhance the Mission and Values of the Village.

As a Registered Nurse, we anticipate you will have no less than 3 years’ experience at this level within the aged care sector and have been keenly involved with the success of an accreditation process. A good grasp of ACFI and prevailing legislation in this vital industry is also important.

St Hedwig Village is a Catholic, German and English-speaking Aged Care facility in Blacktown. We are currently seeking people who may be interested in becoming volunteers.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enjoy the company of older people
  • Having a caring and compassionate nature
  • Non-judgemental and respectful of confidentiality

Training and support in the role will be given.

Days and hours are flexible to suit your commitments.

Director of the Institute for Mission

  • 5 year appointment (with opportunity for renewal at end of term)

The Institute for Mission (IFM) is an agency of the Diocese of Parramatta and is a focal point for formation studies.

The Director of the Institute for Mission will be responsible for the development, promotion, implementation and management of a range of formation studies. The Director will work closely with IFM’s Board and will report to the Bishop of Parramatta.

Essential Criteria

  • Practising Catholic;
  • Tertiary qualification in theology;
  • Significant experience in adult faith formation;
  • Collaborative team building, leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated senior management skills;
