Level Two Training Course
The Level Two Training Course is designed for Catechists/SREs who have completed Level One and are:
Currently teaching a class
Presently helping in a classroom
Regularly relief-teaching in a classroom
Building upon the work undertaken in Level One, the Level Two Training Course provides opportunities for the further formation of a Catechist/SRE, through topics that include: Faith Development of Students
Sacraments of Initiation
Further Scriptural studies
Classroom Management
The Beatitudes
An update on Diocesan Child Protection
You will need to complete all sessions to receive the Level Two Certificate. Another component of the Level Two Training Course which needs to be completed is an Assessment Task. This task involves the participant being observed by a CCD Regional Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinator will then discuss the lesson with the Catechist/SRE. Session 12 of the course provides the Catechist/SRE with an opportunity to briefly outline to the other participants the lesson that has been observed, including showing/ demonstrating any resources which may have been used during the lesson.
In most cases, the Level Two Certificate is presented within a parish.
Times and dates can also be found in our Training Schedule for this year.
