Wise Words from Students
From the ‘mouths of babes’ sometimes come the most amazing words of wisdom:
A Prayer from Laura in Year Two (as it was written)
“Dear God, You are special to me and I knowe you will be their fuor me.
I will triye to be cond to uthers. Love from Laura.”
During a discussion about creeds and the word ‘universal’, a Catechist/SRE asked her Year 6 class what does the word ‘universal’ mean. After some thought, a student replied:
“No-one is not allowed in.”
From a lesson on Moses came the question:
“Did Moses get sunburnt in the desert?”
Child: "Where is God?"
Adult: "God is everywhere, even in the dark."
Child: "Does God like carrots?"
Adult (after a slight pause): "I don’t know, God helps to grow the carrots. God probably doesn’t need to eat carrots."
Child: "But God must have eaten a lot of carrots 'cos he can see in the dark."
Teacher: "Can anyone tell me what is a Prophet?"
Child: "It is when you buy something for 5 cents and you sell it for 10 cents."
From a grandchild to a grandparent:“Scripture takes up too much of your valuable time.”
