Purpose
This service provides specialised counselling and intensive family support
to residents of the Blacktown local government area. The service is child
protection focussed and child focussed. The goal is to empower families to
make changes in their situation, so that their children are ensured of
protection from any form of neglect or abuse. This is a home based

Gambling Counselling Service
Purpose
This service assists gamblers and their families to deal with the issues
and problems caused by gambling. Counselling is provided for individuals,
couples and families. Group sessions for gamblers and members of their
families are held on Saturdays. Other groups run as required.

Project Elizabeth
Purpose
- To provide a comprehensive
pregnancy related counselling service for women and girls
- To offer outreach service
through home visits and hospital visits for women and girls
- To assist women and girls
reduce the risk of having physical/emotional problems caused by lack
of emotional support before, during and in the months following the
birth of their children
- To increase women's and
girls' awareness of appropriate management of children 0-2 years old
- To offer a "Young Mums"
Group for women up to 25 years of age who are pregnant or who are parents
- To establish and maintain
links for women and mothers with existing services and community networks.

Relationship and Family Counselling Program
Purpose
This centre provides counselling for couples, individuals and families
for marriage and relationships. People entering marriage or a relationship,
those wanting change, or experiencing difficulties in their marriage or
relationship and those who have lost a relationship through separation,
divorce or death can benefit from professional support. Sliding scale
of fees. Sessions are usually for one hour.

Centacare
Relationship Education Program
Purpose
Courses for couples, preparing for marriage are offerred. Two leaders
explore with couples, through group activities and private couple discussions,
to deepen their knowledge of each other, their expectations of marriage
and develop their communication and conflict management.
The 'PREPARE' questionnaire,
with follow-up sessions, is designed to be a facilitative instrument,
increasing understanding of marriage, highlighting strengths and identifying
work areas for couples.

The
Mamre Project
Purpose
Mamre Project is an initiative of the Parramatta Sisters of Mercy. The
project is dedicated to assisting the unemployed, youth at risk of not
completing Year 10 at school, the disabled through supported employment,
Southern Sudanese Refugees and other disadvantaged of our community. The
Project aims to develop personal initiative and competence through work
and training relevant to community and industry needs. There is no charge
to clients for the services provided.
