Government sends in the troops

Sudan Bishop tells of suffering
Bishop Gasi Joseph Abangite of the Diocese of Tombura-Yambio in Sudan
was a recent visitor to the Diocese of Parramatta. After more than 20
years of violence and suffering in the south of his country, Bishop
Joseph brought news of a relative peace in Sudan to the many Sudanese

New Parochial District
A new Parochial District has been established in the Diocese of
Parramatta. In May 2007, the Bishop of Parramatta, Bishop Kevin Manning
appointed Fr Warren Edwards as the Priest in Charge of the Parochial

Rebuilding Church in the community

National Vocations Awareness Week: 5-12 August 2007
As a Vocation Director, it can certainly be a privilege being
invited into the lives of people as they discern their paths. As I
observe, in particular, young men contemplating priesthood for our
Diocese, I try to support and guide them to come to a free and peaceful
choice. This has influenced me to ask if there's a common ground for all
